WHAT TO WATCH ON SATURDAY

The Rebels have the week off and your Saturday is free from the ups and downs of watching the offense score points, only to see defense allow 15 yards at a time.

What should you spend your time watching instead?

Well, the easy choices are the two huge games nationally. Texas takes on Oklahoma at 9 a.m., hours before Louisiana State and Florida take the field at 5 p.m.

In between, there are many great games and decent ones peppering the college football landscape, just like every other Saturday.

But, what about Mountain West Conference action?

Starting at 11 a.m., The Mountain (Cable 334) will air the Utah-Wyoming and the New Mexico-Brigham Young games back-to-back. As difficult as it may be, UNLV fans should root for both Utah schools to run the table until they meet up.

It can only help the conference, both financially and in recruiting, to have one of them make a BCS game.

Then, you don't even have to flip the station because, at 6:30, Air Force takes on San Diego State. It will be an opportunity to scout the Falcons, UNLV's next opponent.

One can only hope that the UNLV coaches and defenders are watching the game and trying to think of a way to slow down the Air Force rushing game.

Just in case anyone is interested, the Texas Christian-Colorado State game will air live on CBS College Sports Channel (Cable 333) at 12:30 p.m.
