Josh Sharman saved his best for the end, pitching out of jams in the fifth and sixth innings, as the Diamondbacks defeated visiting Palo Verde 5-3 in a battle of the area’s top-ranked teams.
The Bulldogs played six games in the Diamondback Kickoff Tournament, five of them decided by one run, including a 7-6 win over Arbor View in Saturday’s championship game at Desert Oasis.
