New UNLV women’s basketball coach Lindy La Rocque was formally introduced to the media Thursday.
Howie Landa was a UNLV men’s basketball assistant coach in the 1988-89 and 1994-95 seasons and for the women in 1989-93. He also was the interim men’s coach for seven games.
UNLV junior guard Amauri Hardy has entered the NCAA transfer portal, and junior forward Cheickna Dembele has been ruled physically unable to play next season.
Lindy La Rocque, who went to Durango High School before going to play and coach at Stanford, was named UNLV’s women’s basketball coach.
The Mountain West has canceled all team-related activities until at least March 29, effectively ending spring football until then.
UNLV will visit the Fighting Irish in 2022 in the first meeting between the programs. The Rebels will receive $1.35 million for making the trip for the Oct. 22, 2022 game.
