The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline voted to suspend Michele Fiore from her position as Pahrump Justice of the Peace without pay, according to court documents.
The Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission has scheduled a hearing Friday to determine if the group will take away the salary of Michele Fiore, who was found guilty of wire fraud.
“She’s going to do time, in my opinion,” said one local defense attorney. “She would have been better off taking a negotiation and just falling on the sword.”
Prosecutors say Michele Fiore’s daughter Sheena Siegel committed perjury while testifying about the wire fraud and conspiracy charges her mother is facing.
Prosecutors allege that Fiore raised tens of thousands of dollars for a statue of fallen Metropolitan Police Department officer Alyn Beck, but spent it on herself and her daughter’s wedding.
The judge overseeing the case still has to rule on the admissibility of some evidence after a hearing.
Pahrump Justice of the Peace Michele Fiore heard cases for the last time before her suspension begins. The next time she’s in court, she’ll be on the other side of the bench.
Prosecutors allege that as a Las Vegas city councilwoman, Fiore raised more than $70,000 for a fallen officers memorial, but spent the money on herself and her daughter’s wedding.
Pahrump Justice of the Peace and former Las Vegas City Councilwoman Michele Fiore appeared in federal court, following her indictment on wire fraud and conspiracy charges.

A complaint filed with local, state and federal authorities calls for Michele Fiore’s final votes as a councilwoman to “be voided and done over.”
The city of Las Vegas does not plan to “rescind or reconsider” former Councilwoman Michele Fiore’s final city council votes, according to City Attorney Bryan Scott.
The announcement came a week after a candidate passed on for Fiore last month, filed a complaint with the county and Attorney General Aaron Ford’s office.
