Breaking news for Obama, Reid: The economy stinks

The AP story this morning about flagging attendance at NASCAR events is fairly easy to explain: the economy stinks.

When you don't have a job, you're not likely to bust out the $$ for tix to a car race.

You can bet that baseball and football will face the same issues in their upcoming seasons.

You see, America doesn't need another hypocritical lecture from President Obama to know what to do during a recession. You do what you have to do, which is tighten your belt. That's what's happening to NASCAR. That's what's happened to Las Vegas tourism.

The only folks in America who don't get that are President Obama, Sen. Harry Reid (Only 36,000 lost their jobs today) and most Democrats and a few Republicans in Congress. Instead of tightening the federal government's belt, they plan to double-down on spending with new entitlement programs. Health care "reform" is the latest. You can bet that immigration "reform" is right around the corner. And it will all be done in the name of jobs and reducing the budget.

And it will all be a fairy tale. The best we can hope for now is that enough good people in Congress can slow down the Obama spending machine long enough for reinforcements to arrive after the November election. Then maybe we can start reversing some of the damage Obama and crew have already done to the economy and get our spending house in order.
