Man falls off wall, dies after being tased by police

Police say a man died Thursday in Dekalb County, Ga., after he fell off a wall after being tased while running from police.

According to a spokesman with DeKalb County police, officers were conducting a traffic stop in DeKalb County when the passenger of the vehicle jumped out and started running.

The incident took place southeast of downtown Atlanta.

The police spokesman said that while running from police, the passenger tried to jump over an 8 foot wall, which is when he was tased.

The suspect fell over the wall after being tased, according to the spokesman, who added that the man was unconscious while officers placed him in handcuffs.

The police spokesman said that paramedics arrived within 5-6 minutes, but the suspect was later pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
