AMR Regional Director Scott White briefs media regarding the fatal overnight crash that killed one first responder and a patient.
A first responder and patient were killed early Tuesday morning after an ambulance rolled over on Interstate 15.
An ambulance was transporting a patient between medical facilities about 12:45 a.m. when it hydroplaned on the ramp leading from northbound I-15 to the westbound 215 Beltway. The ambulance rolled into a rocky embankment on the side of the highway.
An EMT in his 50s and a patient in his 60s were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the ambulance was hospitalized at University Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Two paramedics with Community Ambulance, the medic team contracted for Route 91, share their stories responding to the shooting.
