Avicii’s Family Said He ‘Could Not
Go On Any Longer’ The Bergling Family released a statement about their son Tim, better known as electronic-dance DJ Avicii, saying “he wanted to find peace.” Avicii, who was 28 at the time, was found dead in Muscat, Oman on Apr. 20. The Bergling Family The Bergling Family Avicii suffered from acute pancreatitis as a result of excessive drinking and underwent surgery in 2014 to have his gallbladder and appendix removed. The DJ canceled a series of shows in order to recover and announced his official retirement from live performing in 2016.
