Hawaiian Airlines will launch the new nonstop service on Dec. 15, the carrier announced Monday. The flights will be among the first using Hawaiian’s new narrow-body Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Hawaiians have a strong presence in Las Vegas.The city’s unofficial status is “Hawaii’s ninth island.” In 2018, at least 2,958 people from Hawaii moved to Nevada. Of those, 88.7 percent moved into Clark County, according to driver license surrender data. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, 310,249 people came to Las Vegas from Hawaii in 2018.

Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano Erupts Causing Mass Evacuations The volcano erupted late Thursday night, causing over 1,500 people to flee from Leilani Estates, a community of Hawaii’s Big Island. The governor of Hawaii, David Ige, issued a mandatory evacuation and called in the National Guard. It sounded like if you were to put a bunch of rocks into a dryer and turn it on as high as you could. You could just smell sulfur and burning trees and underbrush and stuff. Officials are unsure how long the eruption will continue.
