A drug manufacturer filed suit Tuesday in an effort to stop this week’s execution of convicted murderer Scott Dozier. Dozier was sentenced to die in 2007 for the slaying of Jeremiah Miller.

A man was killed after being shot in the face during a Monday morning argument in the 100 block of Sacramento Drive. A man and woman were arguing outside the home when the woman drew a gun and shot the man in the face, police said. The man died at the scene. Police have identified the woman, who was an acquaintance of the man who died, and are searching for her.
An early Monday morning argument has left one man dead and a woman in the hospital. A roommate heard that the pair were arguing and asked a friend to check on the couple at the Woodhaven apartments on Stober Boulevard. The couple were found with gunshot wounds to their heads. The man died at the scene and the woman was hospitalized, police said, adding the woman shot herself. Police could not confirm who shot the man, but were investigating the shooting as a domestic incident.
A man was shot and killed Sunday night in the McDonald’s parking lot at 3885 Blue Diamond Road near Valley View Drive. Las Vegas police think a drug deal went sour after an argument broke out and gunfire struck a man in his 20s. He died at the scene. Police are questioning several witnesses, and they’re searching for the suspect. This is the 48th homicide Metro has investigated this year.

Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide and kidnapping Wednesday morning in the west valley. A woman’s ex-boyfriend broke into a home, shot her current boyfriend and then kidnapped her, police said. She was later found safe.
The man who was shot was taken to a hospital where he died. The shooter was taken into custody after a chase that ended near Interstate 15 and Tropicana Avenue.
The string of holiday season killings in the Las Vegas Valley continued Saturday morning when two security guards were gunned down inside a hotel room at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur hotel-casino.
Since Dec. 22, 10 people have been killed in Las Vegas. All but one death was the result of gun violence.

1. A 25-year-old man was shot and killed overnight after checking his mail. The man got into a confrontation with four other men, before he was shot three times. (video) Police didn’t know a motive and were investigating what the group of four was doing nearby.
2. Footage released of the officer shooting an armed naked man Saturday show the man complied with police before turning around and running back toawrd his gun. Police say Jason David Funke suffered a gun shot wound in his upper shoulder, and faces gross misdemeanor charges of possession of a dangerous weapon at a school or child-care property and indecent exposure.

1. Police are investigating after a woman in her early 20s was found dead inside an open garage at her apartment complex. Las Vegas police said the victim was a “completely innocent person” with a lack of criminal history. Police believe she was attacked on her way to her car.
2. A robbery at a Summerlin Costco Wednesday night has police searching for four suspects. The robbers were only armed with the tool they used to break open display cases, and no one was injured. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
3. The College of Southern Nevada has been issued a second warning this year from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities over plans relating to self evaluation of performance. CSN must submit evidence by Oct. 30 showing the board has approved plans for annual self-evalution, which Board Chairman Kevin Page says they have already approved. Thomas Randolph has been found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. Randolph could possibly face the death penalty for his crimes.
Soon Mo Lee, the man who plead guilty to drunk-driving in a crash that left Kamesha J’Nyah Gilmore and Gabriell Rene Thomas dead, was sentenced to 12 to 30 years in prison.
