A Clark County grand jury indicted Henderson Constable Earl Mitchell. A Las Vegas Review-Journal investigation prompted the criminal probe. The newspaper found Mitchell wrote himself thousands in checks, took out cash at ATMs and traveled on county funds. He faces four felony counts of theft and a county of public misconduct. Mitchell and his attorney could not be reached for comment.
Dead Body Found in Home of New York Giants’ Janoris Jenkins ‘TMZ Sports’ broke the story and said the Major Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation. The deceased man’s body was reportedly discovered by a worker in the basement of Jenkins’ New Jersey home on Tuesday morning. The report also claims the NFL cornerback was out of state during the time of the body’s discovery. The identity of the victim and the cause of death are unclear.

One person was killed Monday morning in a three-vehicle collision that left one car wrapped around a pole in the central valley. A sexual harassment investigation forced out Patrick Moers as Henderson’s police chief last year, sources told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The city said his ouster had to do with mailers regarding the police foundation, and classified Moers’ departure as “voluntary.” But sexual harassment allegations against the Police Department aren’t limited to the investigation of Moers. Although no names were given, several police officers have said that sexual harassment is rampant throughout the department. Sources also told the Review-Journal that Assistant City Manager Greg Blackburn is the subject of a sexual harassment investigation in Henderson. Victimized Henderson employees won’t speak up for fear of losing their jobs, multiple sources told the Review-Journal. March told the Review-Journal in December that Henderson’s “culture of fear” is unacceptable. said Mayor Debra March. None of the four council members returned phone calls seeking comments.
State officials admitted in interviews that they have been lax for years in forcing resorts in Las Vegas and across Nevada to comply with a law that requires the filing of casinos emergency plans.
1. 50-0. Floyd Mayweather beat Conor McGregor by knockout in the 10th round Saturday night. McGregor impressed in early round with speed and flurries of punches, but stamina won the day and Mayweather hit his stride in the eighth round. Many celebrities were seen around the arena, including LeBrown James, Mike Tyson, Steve Harvey and more. The fight didn’t start without controversy. Several anxious customers complained when the UFC website went down and customers ordering pay-per-view couldn’t finalize their purchase. Showtime said they would delay the start of the fight, and the fight began shortly after 9 p.m.
2. A fire at the Westgate was quickly extinguished Saturday. Clark County fire responded to the scene around 5:50 p.m. and the Westgate reported that the fire was out by 6:30 p.m. Officials say the fire started on an electrical room on the 12th floor.

1. A Las Vegas police officer used a Taser on a man 7 times before using a chokehold for more than a minute Sunday before his death. According to police, officer Kenneth Lopera believed Tashi Brown was attempting to carjack someone outside of The Venetian when Lopera used a Taser on Brown 7 times, struck him and administered a chokehold before Brown became unresponsive. The driver of the truck says he didn’t feel he was being carjacked and Brown would not have faced any charges had he survived. Officer Lopera is currently on paid leave while Brown’s death is investigated.
2. Henderson police chief Patrick Moers faces an internal investigation after he sent out mailers to local businesses promoting Friends of Henderson Police Department Foundation, which Moers said was the department’s only authorized fundraising group. Henderson Mayor Debra March said she was concerned by the mailer and a spokesman with the police department says the city is reviewing its policies in regards to charitable activities.
3. UFC president Dana White and Conor McGregor have agreed on a deal to fight boxer Floyd Mayweather. White said late Wednesday that UFC and McGregor came to terms on a deal and now they must work on a deal with Mayweather’s team. Terms have yet to be released.
