The Clark County coroner’s office identified the man killed early Sunday in a suspected DUI crash involving a rented race car. Joshua Badell, 39, was in the passenger seat of a Toyota Camry parked in a strip mall near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road when a green McLaren 570S left the road and crashed into the vehicle, police said. He died of blunt force injuries, and his death was ruled an accident, the coroner’s office said.

The Clark County School District revealed for the first time Tuesday that it is facing a budget deficit of between $17 million and $18 million next year despite winning additional funding in the just concluded legislative session.
