Two students at different Clark County schools arrested for guns. The first incident Thursday occurred at Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas at 7:30 a.m., just before school started. A male student at the school had left a duffel bag unattended, according to school police. The second incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at Desert Rose High School in North Las Vegas. A 17-year-old female was reported to school administrators.

The timing and size of the increase is unknown. However, executives hinted they might soon push fees up to Caesars’ level.

Neighbors said the woman was climbing the outside of a chain link fence while more than 200 students were outside.
Police said the woman was screaming that she was gonna kill everyone.

And the woman who fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the freeway, killing six teenagers in 2000, has made her plea for a fifth early release.
Jessica Williams has served 18 years. Commissioners will issue their decision on March 14.

A man is dead after an accidental shooting last night in the desert east of Las Vegas.
Three men were drinking and shooting guns in the desert, police said, when one of the men was shot. He died at the scene.
The man has not yet been identified. It is unclear if anyone will face charges.
A pedestrian has been hospitalized after being struck by a sports utility vehicle early Tuesday morning. The man suffered serious injuries from the crash, which was reported just after 5 a.m. on Craig Road near Puebla Street. The driver of the SUV remained on the scene and was cooperating with police. He did not appear to be impaired, police said.

Two people were killed in a car crash Sunday afternoon in the western valley. Two cars collided about 4:45 p.m. on Rainbow Boulevard, just south of Westcliff Drive. A white Chrysler struck a black Toyota as it was turning left into a shopping center, Las Vegas police said. The Chrysler jumped a curb and struck the corner of the Silver State Schools Credit Union office. The Toyota flipped and the driver and the passenger, who was ejected from the car, died at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler suffered minor injuries and police said he was not impaired. It’s unclear if he will face charges.

Spring Valley Area Command Patrol Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who has been responsible for approximately eight burglaries in the area of Oakey Boulevard and Rancho Drive since January 2018. During these incidents, the suspect makes entry through a rear window or a sliding patio backdoor. The suspect is described as a black male between 20 and 30 years of age, slender with an athletic build. A vehicle of interest in these incidents is described as a white Nissan Pathfinder with a red and white bumper sticker.

Chumlee of ‘Pawn Stars’ pursues weight loss through surgery. The 35-year-old cable sensation decided to have gastric-bypass surgery Feb. 15. In early 2014, Chumlee’s friend and fellow “Pawn Star” Corey Harrison underwent lap-band surgery and dropped nearly 200 pounds. In his own weight-loss campaign, Chumlee says he plans to hang a poster of Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, for post-surgery fitness motivation. “I want abs like that!” Chumlee says. “And I want a Brazilian butt-lift.”
Get ready, NASCAR fans, the Hauler Parade is returning to the Las Vegas Strip. The Hauler Parade, which will feature about 40 brightly colored 18-wheeler trucks, is back for this year’s NASCAR weekend. Beginning at 6 p.m. March 1, the haulers will make their way up Las Vegas Boulevard from the south end of the Strip to Sahara Boulevard then proceed to Interstate 15 to head to the speedway. Police are investigating a Friday morning shooting in central Las Vegas. One person was shot in the leg at the Las Vegas Lounge at 600 E. Karen Ave. The injured person was taken to a hospital. Their condition is not known. As of 6 a.m., the shooter is on the run.
Green metal bins have popped up at the nation’s eighth-busiest airport, creating a safe space for airline passengers to dispose of marijuana. Even though recreational marijuana is legal in Nevada, the drug is banned inside Clark County’s network of airports and security checkpoints. “Marijuana is not allowable anywhere inside the buildings, be it pre- or post-security,” airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said. About 20 so-called “amnesty boxes” were installed over the past week outside high-traffic areas of McCarran, Henderson Executive and North Las Vegas airports.

The Nevada Division of Minerals and Clark County plan to permanently close at least 40 abandoned mine shafts at the valley’s southwestern edge. The hazardous mine openings are left over from a gypsum mine that operated from 1909 until 1931. Work to fill in the shafts is set to start April 2 and take about a month. The project is expected to cost about $250,000.
Police have arrested two people in connection with a Monday night robbery at the South Point.
Police said a woman walked up to a casino cage at the South Point, showed the cashier a gun and demanded money.
Now Jason Lockwood and Tina Lopez, both 37, are booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
A Las Vegas man suspected of fatally shooting two homeless men and injuring two other people has been taken into custody.
26-year-old Joshua Emmanuel Castellon faces two counts each of murder and attempted murder in addition to a federal gun charge.
A federal complaint says Castellon identified himself as a Lyft driver.
Police still do not have a motive for the shootings.
A fire that started last night at Clark County Wetlands Park is finally contained.
A little more than 14 acres burned. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not threaten any buildings. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
