Roller derby is known as a full contact sport of violence and sportsman like sass. Teams have fun names, nicknames are common (“Darkness,” “Reaper,” “Steller,” “Diva”). The Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls are no exception. Claudia Ramirez worked her way from no experience to earning a spot on the travel team. But it’s the camaraderie, not the winning, that pushes her love for the sport. The women on her team of all ages and backgrounds have become friends far beyond roller derby.
