We are down to just eight boys teams and eight girls teams in pursuit of a state title. Region semis are on Tuesday the 19th, championship games are the 21st and then we’ve got the 4A title game on the 23rd so this will sadly be our last basketball show of the year.

Centennial’s girls track and field team won its eighth consecutive Class 4A state championship on Saturday. Bishop Gorman’s boys track and field team won its first Class 4A state championship. Liberty’s Gabby Carson equaled a state record in the pole vault, clearing 13 feet, 6 inches. Bishop Gorman’s Jalen Nailor (left) won four state championships over the course of the weekend. Rancho’s girls 400-meter relay team posted a new state record time of 45.84.
