Basic’s baseball team is looking for a third consecutive state championship this week. Senior pitcher C.J. Dornak lends plenty of experience. He has made four appearances and earned two wins in the last two state tournaments. Dornak is 7-0 with two saves and a 0.72 ERA this season. For his career, Dornak is 20-1 with six saves and a 0.67 ERA. Garrett Giles also is playing in his third state tournament, and should lead the offense.
He’s batting .495 with a team-high 44 RBIs. Bishop Gorman transfer Jesse Fonteboa adds offensive firepower.
He’s hitting .409 with four homers and 35 RBIs.

Barack Obama Gives His March Madness Picks The former president revealed his picks on Twitter Wednesday for both the men and women’s NCAA tournament. Just because I have more time to watch games doesn’t mean my picks will be better Obama selected Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan State and Villanova, going Michigan State over Virginia in the national championship game. In the women’s tournament, he’s taking UConn, Mississippi St, Louisville and Notre Dam in the Final Four, with the Huskies winning the title.
