Wetlands Park brush fire

A plume of thick, black smoke visible across the Las Vegas Valley rose into the sky late Tuesday afternoon . A brush fire at the Wetlands Park, north of Sam Boyd Stadium, burned between six and 10 acres. The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. No one was injured and no buildings were destroyed. A crew remained on the scene and as of 3 a.m. Wednesday about 50 percent of the fire had been contained. Firefighters will remain at the park until the fire is fully contained. The cause of the fire was unknown.
