Pedestrian struck, killed by motor home in central Las Vegas

Updated August 7, 2021 - 5:14 pm

A pedestrian was killed after being run over by a motor home Saturday morning in central Las Vegas.

Investigators believe that just after 10 a.m., a 2020 Venetian RV was waiting to turn right from eastbound Sahara Avenue onto Eastern Avenue, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police Department.

When the light turned green, a pedestrian walking in the marked crosswalk was knocked down the RV as it turned right.

Police said the pedestrian was run over by the RV, killing the 71-year-old Las Vegas man.

The RV driver, a 65-year-old from New Jersey, pulled over and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

The intersection reopened around 3:30 p.m.
