Republican leaders are revving up a large crowd this afternoon at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson in advance of a campaign speech by Former President Donald Trump.
Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald, told the crowd that men supporting Vice President Kamala Harris are “beta,” and men supporting former President Donald Trump are “alpha.” He called Republican Senate candidate Sam Brown to the stage, saying he is running for the working man and is a war hero. The crowd gives him a standing ovation and chants “USA.”
Later, Senate candidate Sam Brown says in an interview that he is feeling good about the state of the race and that he has momentum. He’s seeing new and low-propensity voters come out to vote. He said he is voting on Election Day. When asked how he’s voting on Nevada’s ballot questions, he declined to answer.
Earlier, Gov. Joe Lombardo, who has not spoken at a Trump rally in Southern Nevada this cycle, encouraged supporters to vote Republican up and down the ballot, especially in state legislative races. Lombardo has been active in trying to prevent a Democratic supermajority in both houses that would render his veto power moot.
Excitement was building hours before as long lines formed outside Lee’s Family Forum.
Today is Nevada Day, but some rallygoers picked up on the Halloween theme, including Las Vegas resident Mylissa Kurz, who dressed as Morticia Addams. She said she likes how the country ran under him and likes his plans to ban taxes on tips.

Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Henderson today at Lee’s Family Forum in the campaign’s final push before the Nov. 5 election.
His Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris will hold her own rally later today in North Las Vegas. Both of the presidential candidates’ rallies are taking place near the end of Nevada’s early voting period, which ends Friday.
Republicans have led in early voting this election, reflecting the change in the campaign’s get-out-the-vote messaging encouraging its supporters to vote with any method available, including mail ballots and early voting rather than just on Election Day. Democrats have led in returning ballots by mail.
Trump is set to speak at 3:30 p.m. today.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
