51s keep up in playoff race with 6-3 win over Salt Lake

■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Salt Lake City, it just wasn’t Jacob deGrom’s day. Although the 51s right-hander took a perfect game into the sixth inning, he lost the perfecto and the no-hitter in the sixth and the shutout in the seventh. Ultimately, deGrom walked away without a decision for his efforts. … DeGrom lost his perfect game and no-hitter when the Bees’ Roberto Lopez led off the sixth with a single to left. The right-hander got out of the inning without any additional damage, but things unraveled in the seventh. DeGrom gave up a leadoff walk to Luis Jimenez and a double to left and was replaced by reliever John Church. The Bees (74-55) scored twice in the inning to tie the score at 2. … The 51s (70-57) regained the lead with a four-run eighth. Lucas Duda broke the tie with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly, Brandon Hicks followed with a two-out RBI double, and Francisco Pena doubled home two for a 6-2 lead. … Salt Lake added a run in the eighth, but Robert Carson retired the final five batters he faced, including striking out the side in the ninth, for his 11th save.
