Las Vegan Forrest Griffin injured his knee and has been forced to pull out of his UFC 155 bout against Phil Davis.
Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White revealed Wednesday on Twitter the former light heavyweight champion suffered a torn medial collateral ligament and a strained anterior cruciate ligament.
No plans have been revealed to replace the fight on the Dec. 29 card at the MGM Grand Garden.
Davis was a replacement for Griffin's original opponent, Chael Sonnen, who was removed from the fight to serve as a coach on the upcoming season of "The Ultimate Fighter" opposite Jon Jones.
