The story: When her best friend asks her to serve as her maid of honor, lovelorn -- and broke -- Annie tries to bluff her way through the expensive and bizarre nuptial rituals alongside her oddball fellow bridesmaids.
The buzz: Wiig co-scripted this female-centric comedy with Annie Mumolo, a member of Los Angeles' Groundlings comedy troupe, which has launched several generations of "Saturday Night Live" regulars, from Laraine Newman and Jon Lovitz to Will Ferrell, Cheri Oteri, Julia Sweeney and Phil Hartman -- along with "Bridesmaids" co-stars Wiig, Rudolph and McCarthy.
