Lobbyists spend over $31,000 in February

CARSON CITY -- Lobbyists spent more than $31,000 on Nevada lawmakers during the first month of the state Legislature.

Reports filed with the Legislative Counsel Bureau show the spending came from a small number of lobbyists and were largely for group activities.

The biggest expense was from the Nevada Taxpayers Association, which reported spending more than $13,000 for hosting a legislative dinner.

Sixteen legislators received gifts of monetary value in February.
