A fight over a child turned into what police characterized as a random homicide in southwest Las Vegas late Tuesday night.

Las Vegas police said a 50-year-old man shot and killed his son late Tuesday at a southwest valley apartment complex.

The shooting happened just after 3:30 a.m. on 604 N. 23rd St., near North Eastern Avenue and East Bonanza Road, when a shooter walked up to the home and began firing rounds through a window, police said.
At about 5:20 p.m., the female victim was walking in Coleman Park, 6336 Carmen Blvd., when she heard gunshots and ran off. She noticed blood from a gunshot wound on her left calf.
Porchay Banks, 24, is being held at the Clark County Detention Center and faces one count of accessory to murder in connection with a Friday afternoon shooting that left a man dead at an apartment complex on the 2000 block of Sunrise Avenue.
The shooting happened at an apartment complex on the 5300 block of East Craig Road.
The man, described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, was shot just after 1 p.m. in a Sunrise Avenue apartment, near Fremont Street and Eastern Avenue, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
