Actors to launch local debut of ‘Weirdsville’

Actors Wes Bentley and Taryn Manning will help launch the local debut of their movie "Weirdsville" today as part of the CineVegas Film Festival's Art House Screening Series.

The special screening will take place at 7:30 p.m. today at Galaxy Theatre's Neonopolis multiplex, 450 Fremont St.

Following the movie, Bentley ("American Beauty") and Manning ("Hustle & Flow") will participate in a question-and-answer session with audience members, followed by an after-party at the Downtown Cocktail Room, 111 Las Vegas Blvd.

An offbeat comedy, "Weirdsville" focuses on a pair of hapless slackers (played by Bentley and Scott Speedman) who encounter a satanic cult in the basement of an abandoned drive-in -- where they had planned to dump the body of a dead girlfriend (Manning). Allan Moyle ("Pump Up the Volume") directs.

Tickets to the screening are $10 each, including admission to the post-screening party; they may be purchased online at www.ticketmakers.com.

"Weirdsville" continues its week-long run through Feb. 7 at part of CineVegas' screening series. Additional information is available online at www.cinevegas.com.
