Chuck Negron doing his best after doing worst

The first sentence of Chuck Negron’s autobiography is “I should be dead.” The one-word descriptive of his Twitter account is “Blessed.”

Connect the dots or go to the Three Dog Night singer’s website, in which he offers his services not just as a classic rocker but as a guest speaker to explain how he ended up homeless after “three dozen attempts at rehab and a hundred detoxes.”

Negron’s memoir “Three Dog Nightmare” further explains how the voice of “One” ended up selling his gold records to finance his heroin habit before finally cleaning up in 1991. The book seems to be out of print and commanding high prices on Amazon. But thanks to the Internet, the explanation of the phrase “exploding penis” is just a search engine away.

After that you can check out Facebook, which informs us that in lieu of a reunion with Three Dog Night’s Danny Hutton and Cory Wells, Negron has at least been back in the studio with the classic ’60s band’s percussionist, Floyd Sneed, working on a new project.
