Eagles to share history during next Vegas stop

The Eagles recently relaunched the historical Forum in Southern California with a six-night stand at the arena. But it’s the MGM Grand Garden that’s been their consistent home in recent years.

The classic-rock institution has played the MGM at least seven times in 10 years, with most of those dates offering essentially the same set list. But this time will be a different, based on the Forum rollout of the new “History of the Eagles.”

If you’ve been eager to hear “Train Leaves Here This Morning”or “Doolin-Dalton,” rejoice in the news that the three-hour Forum shows started with Don Henley and Glenn Frey pulling up stools to share stories about the band’s earliest days.

Gradually they were joined by Timothy B. Schmit, welcomed-back guitarist Bernie Leadon and finally Joe Walsh for the chronology that built to the usual mix of greatest hits from both band and solo albums.

“We all have assignments in the Eagles. You have to play your part and sing your part, and you have to be there with that part,” Walsh said in late 2012. “If all of us show up with our parts, it turns into something bigger than any of us individually — and that is the Eagles.”
