New shows to help fill Olympic-sized void

Some of you are undoubtedly distraught about the Olympics coming to a close, but there are a couple of silver linings.

The first, KSNV-TV, Channel 3 can no longer use promos for its late newscast to spoil the show they’re interrupting. Seriously, what was the point of telling viewers who won the tape-delayed events they were watching? Although maybe that’s the start of a new trend. “Coming up after Red smothers an arms dealer with a teddy bear on ‘The Blacklist’ … ”

And the second is the barrage of new shows and new seasons of returning shows.

NBC is using the closing ceremony to launch “Growing Up Fisher” (10:30 p.m. Sunday, Channel 3), a comedy about a family brought closer by the divorce of a ditsy mom (Jenna Elfman) and blind dad (J.K. Simmons). Unlike two years ago, when the network cut away from London to debut the monkey-centric “Animal Hospital,” the plan seems to be to wait until the Sochi Games actually end.

ABC is unveiling “Mind Games” (10 p.m. Tuesday, KTNV-TV, Channel 13), a drama from Kyle Killen (“Lone Star,” “Awake”) about brothers (Christian Slater, Steve Zahn) who can influence any situation, and “Mixology” (9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Channel 13), a comedy about 10 singles trying to hook up in the same bar.

NBC also is bringing back “The Voice” (8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Channel 3) and “Hannibal” (10 p.m. Friday, Channel 3).

CBS has new seasons of “The Amazing Race” (8 p.m. Sunday, KLAS-TV, Channel 8) and “Survivor” (8 p.m. Wednesday, Channel 8).

And Fox is offering another of Gordon Ramsay’s 27 shows, “Kitchen Nightmares” (8 p.m. Friday, KVVU-TV, Channel 5).

On cable, TNT has new batches of “Dallas” (9 p.m. Monday), “Rizzoli &Isles” (9 p.m. Tuesday) and “Perception” (10 p.m. Tuesday). Also getting under way are the second seasons of “Legit” (10 p.m. Wednesday, FXX) and “Vikings” (10 p.m. Thursday, History).

■ Ink about ink: Because you can’t have a tattoo series without ties to Las Vegas, local artists Walter “Sausage” Frank of Club Tattoo and King Ruck of Black Spade Tattoo and Red Elephant Tattoo will compete for $100,000 on the new season of “Ink Master” (10 p.m. Tuesday, Spike).

■ Four wives, two episodes: The season finale of the Las Vegas-based “Sister Wives” (8 p.m. Sunday, TLC), will be followed by the special “Sister Wives Tell All 2” (9 p.m. Sunday, TLC).

■ Special screening: Just in time for the Oscars, see all the nominated live-action and animated shorts next weekend at the Suncoast. The grouping of all 10 nominees will be shown at 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. March 2. Tickets are $10.
