Edge of Tomorrow

Caught in a “Groundhog Day”-style time loop, an untested military officer (Tom Cruise) is killed, over and over again, by aliens until a fellow soldier (Emily Blunt) helps whip him into fighting shape in this futuristic action tale. The Fault in Our Stars

For No Good Reason

The career of illustrator and Hunter S. Thompson sidekick Ralph Steadman is explored in this documentary featuring interviews with the likes of Johnny Depp, Terry Gilliam and Tim Robbins. At Village Square. (89 min.) R; language, some drug content and brief sexual images.

Ida

An orphan (Agata Trzebuchowska) raised in a convent begins tracing her roots when she learns her parents were Jewish and were killed during the Nazi occupation. In Polish with English subtitles. At Suncoast. (80 min.) PG-13; thematic elements, some sexuality and smoking.

Palo Alto

Emma Roberts, Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, Zoe Levin and James Franco star in this coming-of-age story directed by Gia Coppola (Francis Ford Coppola’s granddaughter) and based on a book of Franco’s short stories.
