Event showcases ethnic cuisines
More than 30 countries will be showcased with food vendors, music and dance performances, cooking demonstrations and craft sales and demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the International Food and Folklife Festival at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
Vendors will sell cuisine and beverages from Germany, the Philippines, Hawaii, Japan, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Korea, Greece, Mexico, China, Ireland, Thailand and Italy, among others. There also will be Basque food, French pastries, food from Malaysia, Peru and American Indian fry bread.

Hawaiian festival set for the Cannery
Food, crafts and entertainment from the Hawaiian and Pacific islands will be part of the sixth annual Pure Aloha Festival today through Sunday at the Club at the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road in North Las Vegas.
The festival kicks off at 6 p.m. today with a concert hosted by Augie T. featuring Koauka, Pati and Natural Vibes. Ho'aikane and Braddah Walter will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Festival hours begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday with culture performances and Polynesian and Hawaiian specialty vendors.
Admission is $5 at the door and $2 for children younger than 10, military, and seniors 65 and older. Tickets for evening concerts are $26 in advance and $31 the day of the show.
MonteLago Village hosts fine arts festival
The fourth annual Spring Fine Arts Festival, featuring artists and craftspersons displaying original works, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson.
The event will feature artists from California, Arizona, Colorado and Utah as well as many from Nevada. Art categories include painting, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, pottery and glass.
Admission is free.
