JERRY’S FAMOUS COFFEE SHOP TO SERVE STEAK AND LOBSTER SPECIAL

Jerry’s Famous Coffee Shop inside Jerry’s Nugget, 1821 Las Vegas Blvd. North, plans to serve a steak and lobster special for $9.89 for a limited time. From 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, surf and turf will feature a 4-ounce lobster tail, 8-ounce New York steak, medley of squash and choice of mashed or baked potato or fries with garlic or French bread. Soup or salad is also included.

SILVERADO STEAK HOUSE GETS REVAMPED MENU AT SOUTH POINT

Silverado Steak House at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has a revamped menu, including new appetizers such as burgundy sauteed mushrooms ($9), glazed pork belly ($11), entrees of chipotle-glazed flat iron steak ($29), double-cut pork chop ($27) and fresh filet of salmon martini style ($32). For Two is $99 and features a 14-ounce New York steak, four shrimp scampi and four sauteed scallops with wilted spinach.

GARDEN BUFFET ANNOUNCES NEW THEMED BUFFETS AT SOUTH POINT

The Garden Buffet at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to feature a BBQ buffet from 4 to 9 p.m. Mondays for $14.95 with a Casino Club Card and $18.95 without a card. It will include slowly roasted bourbon-glazed pork loin, campfire barbecued spare ribs, Hop Sing’s Firecracker beef and Big Hoss’ Burger Bar. Sides include baked beans, corn on the cob and cheddar potato casserole.

From 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, a seafood buffet is planned for $23.95 with a card and $27.95 without a card. The menu is set to include steamed crab legs, seafood enchiladas and Southern fried catfish.

DOWNTOWN GRAND TO OFFER SMITH CENTER SUNDAYS DINING DEAL

The Downtown Grand, 206 N. Third St., plans to offer Smith Center Sundays in April, giving patrons who attend performances at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts half off their meals.

The offer is available at Triple George Grill, Stewart + Ogden, Red Mansion and The Commissary. Patrons are asked to show their ticket stub or proof of ticket purchase. Alcohol is excluded from the offer.

OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE OPENS KITCHEN CREATIONS CAFE

Opportunity Village has announced the opening of its newest division, Kitchen Creations Cafe, in the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.

The cafe is set to be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, offering sandwiches, salads, wraps and soup. A Grab-N-Go selection also will be available, along with daily breakfast and lunch specials.

The cafe is a joint venture between Opportunity Village and Business Enterprise of Nevada, and brings people with intellectual disabilities and people with visual impairments together.

ECHO & RIG TO SUPPORT JDRF DURING APRIL

During April, Echo & Rig Butcher and Steakhouse at Tivoli Village, 440 S. Rampart Blvd., plans to donate 10 percent of all of its butcher sales to assist the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund with its annual Hope Gala fundraising event.

UNLVINO EVENTS TO RUN THROUGH APRIL 12

The 4oth UNLVino is scheduled through April 12. BAR-b-q at Caesars Palace Garden of the Gods Pool is set for 7 to 10 p.m. April 10. The mixology-inspired event will feature signature cocktails by Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada’s executive director of mixology, Francesco Lafranconi. PROJECT DINNER TABLE’S NEW SEASON TO START APRIL 12

Project Dinner Table plans to begin its fifth season April 12 at Downtown3rd, on Third Street between Stewart and Ogden avenues, featuring cuisine by Downtown Grand chefs Charles Wilson and Todd Harrington.

A social hour with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails is planned for 5:30 p.m., with a family-style dinner set for 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $175 for members and $190 for nonmembers. An annual membership is $49. Other dinners are set for May 17, Sept. 13 and Oct. 11.

CULINARY ACADEMY TO PRESENT HANDS-ON WORKSHOP APRIL 12

A hands-on cooking workshop with chef Robert Kennedy is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas campus, 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

The workshop will focus on the art of baking yeast breads and will include 10 stages of production. Students will prepare their own breads to take home, including pizza dough, cheddar cheese rolls and challah. A snack and beverage will be provided.

The 2014 Great Vegas Festival of Beer is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. (early entry and VIP entry at 3 p.m.) April 26 in the Fremont East Entertainment District in downtown Las Vegas.

Motley Brews plans to expand the festival to accommodate the local beer scene and feature more than 250 brews from more than 80 breweries. A new focus will be on beer-inspired culinary menus, mixology, educational elements, interactive exhibits and live music.

A portion of ticket sales will go to the Nevada Craft Brewers Association. General admission tickets start at $30, early entry tickets start at $40 and the Brewers Lounge VIP tickets start at $70.

BELLAGIO ANNOUNCES CULINARY CLASSROOM SCHEDULE FOR 2014

The Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom at the Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has announced its schedule for 2014. The educational series includes interactive cooking classes led by executive chef Edmund Wong and his team. Each two-hour class is held in Tuscany Kitchen, a state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen.
