Kaizen Fusion Roll & Sushi
Aliante Marketplace, 2760 Deer Springs Way, Suite 101, 702-838-7735
There’s an art to aptly naming sushi rolls, and Kaizen Fusion Roll & Sushi excels at it. There’s the First Kiss Roll (fried shrimp, topped with soft-shell crab, tuna and white fish and splashed with a tangy sauce), the Drum Roll (chopped soft-shell crab and cucumber, topped with salmon and garlic ponzu sauce) and the Vampire Roll (chopped soft-shell crab and cucumber, topped with seared albacore and garlic ponzu sauce). There’s even the Holy Cow Roll that’s wrapped in roast beef. Other rolls bear names such as I Love My Butt, Kiss of Fire, Salmon Killer, Rattle Snake Roll and Salsa Dancing Roll. There are even dessert rolls, such as Ice Cream in Your Mouth (deep-fried apple rolled in soy paper and topped with deep-fried banana, fresh strawberry and fruit sauce). The restaurant is best known for its all-you-can eat option. For $21.95 at lunch or $26.95 at dinner, patrons can dig into more than 150 fresh menu items from hand-rolled sushi to chicken, beef and noodle dishes. Rules apply for such indulgence — the clock starts ticking from the time the order is taken, and patrons have 1½ hours to eat. So no hanging out all day, waiting to make room in your ever-expanding stomach. A fee is charged if you order more than you eat, so it pays to bring a friend. The dark wood dining room with jade green accents isn’t the only place you can enjoy Kaizen’s creations. Take-out options are plentiful, and even the bento box specials with soup and salad can be packed to go. Kaizen Fusion Roll & Sushi is open from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for lunch and 4 to 10:30 p.m. for dinner Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 11 p.m. for dinner Friday and Saturday.
