Luxor’s T&T a cross between traditional and the nontraditional

The name T&T is the first indicator that you're in a different kind of Mexican restaurant, one with a little bit of attitude mixed in with traditional south of the border culture.

Abstract sombreros, skeleton lasers and a giant mural of a model riding a bull set a hip vibe for the Luxor restaurant, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South. "Tequila Temptresses" walk the dining room, offering suggestions on the best pairings of tequila with food.

You'll find plenty of T&T -- tacos and tequila -- on the menu but you'll also find a few unexpected surprises, says Saul Ortiz, executive chef of the restaurant.

T&T is a modern Mexican restaurant, a growing movement in the cuisine that pairs traditional flavors with a European presentation or nontraditional flavors with a traditional Mexican preparation, Ortiz says.

The restaurant seats 208. Reservations are not required.
