Nacho Daddy has flair for daily specials

Nacho Daddy is described on its menu as "An American Grill With A Mexican Flair" and, indeed, the selection of nachos, flatbreads, entrees and desserts keeps the Mexican roots of the food front and center.

Marketing manager Jennifer Miller and executive chef Michael Aragonez say the restaurant, at 9925 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson, is the only Mexican restaurant in the valley that, in response to customer requests, includes a vegan menu.

Nacho Daddy offers specials almost every day. For instance, on Mondays, children younger than 12 eat free with an adult. And, on Sundays, a three-course prime rib dinner is offered for $19.95.

Brunch is served from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Menu items, including breakfast nachos, range in price from $6.95 to $9.95. Brunch also features all-you-can-drink bloody marys .

Nacho Daddy offers a range of specialty cocktails and more than 100 types of tequila.

There also is a kids menu for ages 10 and younger that includes burgers, tacos, nachos, mac and cheese, quesadilla and chicken fingers with a drink for $4.99.

The restaurant seats more than 300 people in the dining room, bar area, two private dining rooms and an outdoor patio. There are 18 TV screens for sports watching. Local comedians perform there at 10 p.m. Thursdays.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Appetizers: Buffalo hot nachos with popcorn chicken, buffalo hot cheese sauce, ranch dressing, celery, green onions on corn chips ($8.95); BBQ pulled pork nachos with honey barbecue and queso sauces topped with fried onion strings on corn ships ($8.95); spicy chorizo flatbread with three-cheese blend ($9.95); veggie flatbread with avocado crema, homemade salsa, Monterey Jack cheese, sauteed spinach and mushrooms, cherry pico de gallo, roasted corn ($8.95).

Salads: Taco salad with ground beef or grilled chicken ($10.95); fajita salad with marinated tenderloin or chicken ($10.95).

Entrees: Grilled fish tacos, three tortillas filled with mahi mahi, shredded cabbage, serrano aioli, mango salsa, avocado and lime served with rice and black beans ($13.95); enchilada trio, three chicken, pork or ground beef enchiladas with red or green sauce, cheese and sour cream served with rice and beans ($12.95); 12-ounce rib-eye steak with Mexican spice rub with grilled Mexican corn and fries ($19.95); half-pound Big Daddy burger with cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato and chipotle cream spread on brioche bun with choice of regular, sweet potato or garlic Parmesan fries ($9.95); Cuban sandwich with ham, turkey, slow-roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles on baguette with choice of fries ($9.95); fajita cheesesteak sandwich with choice of fries ($9.95); Sonoran bacon-wrapped hot dog with choice of fries ($8.95).

Vegan/vegetarian: Cajun tofu tacos, two corn tortillas stuffed with sauteed tofu, black bean corn salsa, guacamole, cabbage and cilantro ($9.95); mango guacamole street tacos, three mini corn tortillas with guacamole topped with mango salsa and cilantro ($9.95); Tex-Mex burrito, sauteed veggie patty, mushrooms, peppers, onions, lettuce, roasted corn, black beans and guacamole ($11.95).

Desserts: Deep-fried ice cream ($6.95); coconut flan ($5.95).
