Time for new mac and cheese recipes
January 14, 2009 - 10:00 pm
Most of us have a tendency to crave comfort food when times are tough, and boy, are times tough. So we're guessing the odds are good that there's a lot of macaroni and cheese being whipped up these days.
But no matter how good macaroni and cheese is and no matter how much it comforts us, it does get boring after a while. Luckily it's something that lends itself to endless variations that extend well beyond using either elbow macaroni or something such as ditalini.
So here's a chance to really find some comfort -- by winning $100. If you have a boffo macaroni and cheese recipe, or have the urge to whip one up, we're inviting you to enter it in our macaroni and cheese recipe contest. A selection of the best original recipes will be published in the Review-Journal and online.
Send the recipe, your name, address and daytime telephone number to Macaroni and Cheese Contest, c/o Heidi Knapp Rinella, Las Vegas Review-Journal, P.O. Box 70, Las Vegas, NV 89125, fax it to 383-4676 or e-mail it to hrinella@reviewjournal.com.
Recipes must be received by 5 p.m. Jan. 23.
