The List: Latest DVDs, CDs, books, December 18

A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:

DVDs

"Trouble with the Curve" (PG-13): A baseball scout (Clint Eastwood) who's losing his sight is joined by his estranged daughter (Amy Adams) for what may be the last road trip of his legendary career.

Elsewhere, a factory worker (Colin Farrell) looking for a mental escape gets his brain scrambled before being drawn into a war between the United Federation of Britain and the working-class Colony in the "Total Recall" (PG-13) remake co-starring Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston. When his client (Emile Hirsch) can't pay upfront, Joe Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a Dallas cop who moonlights as a contract killer, takes his young sister (Juno Temple) as collateral in the violent black comedy "Killer Joe" (R). And the last delivery of the day turns into a deadly chase for a Manhattan bike messenger (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in "Premium Rush" (PG-13).

In sequel news, when his dad wants to spend the summer bonding, Greg (Zachary Gordon) invents a job at a ritzy country club in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" (PG). And Alice (Milla Jovovich) continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak of The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus in "Resident Evil: Retribution" (R).

Topping today's TV transfers: "Mankind: The Story of All of Us," "Californication: The Fifth Season," "Shameless: The Complete Second Season," "House of Lies: Season One," "Army Wives: Season Six - Part Two," "The Sarah Silverman Program: Season Three," "The Life & Times of Tim: The Complete Third Season," "Quincy, M.E.: Season Four" and "Here's Lucy: Season Six."

CDs

T.I., "Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head"

He's cleaned up his life, but not his act.

Atlanta rapper T.I. revisits the mean streets from which he came on his latest disc, even though the troubled MC says that he's gone the straight and narrow after multiple arrests.

Still, he can't seem to stay out of "Trouble," can he?

Also in stores: Chief Keef, "Finally Rich;" The-Dream, "Terius Nash: 1977;" Tiga, "Tiga Non Stop;" Various Artists, "Django Unchained (Film soundtrack)."

BOOKS

"Deadly Little Lessons" by Laurie Faria Stolarz: Camelia Hammond is determined to put family and boyfriend drama behind her, heading to an arts program in Rhode Island, where she becomes wrapped up in the case of a missing girl.

And in "The Darkest Minds" by Alexandra Bracken, 16-year-old Ruby, who possesses unusual abilities she can't control, seeks safety and others like herself after escaping from a government camp.

Also hitting shelves: "The Beatles, God and The Bible" by Ray Comfort; "The Pointblank Directive" by L. Keeney; "Runaway" by Kristina Dunker; and "Whispering Death" by Garry Disher.
