New CDs you need

Three recommended new CDs released today:

Black Lips, “Underneath the Rainbow”: How are these garage rock hedonists still alive to further drag ’60s psych pop into a tar pit of vice? Dig ’em while they’re still breathing.

Twilight, “III: Beneath Trident’s Tomb”: Former Sonic Youth singer-guitarist-feedback-fetishist Thurston Moore joins this murky black metal collective to heighten the doom and dissonance on these plunges into the abyss.

Perfect P——, “Say Yes to Love”: Singer Meredith Graves sings her heart out here. Once the organ in question is freed from her body, she then hurls the bloody thing in your direction as the rest of these noise punk up-and-comers do their best to match her intensity.
