SHARE YOUR MEMORIES OF THE BEATLES IN LAS VEGAS
Meteorological records will tell you differently, but we’d maintain that Aug. 20, 1964, was one of the hottest days ever seen in Southern Nevada.
Why? Because that’s the day the Beatles came to town to perform two shows at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
This August marks the 50th anniversary of that groundbreaking event in Las Vegas entertainment history, and to celebrate, the Review-Journal is looking for Southern Nevadans who might wish to share their own concert-day memories.
The Beatles performed two shows that day, at 4 and 9 p.m., to about 16,000 lucky people. We’d love to hear from anybody who was fortunate enough to score a ticket and attend.
But we’d also love to hear the concert-day stories of others who didn’t get into the show. So if you sneaked into the concert, scalped a ticket, hung around the Sahara hoping to catch a glimpse of the Fab Four or just experienced all of the excitement vicariously, we’d like to hear from you, too.
