Judge’s ruling sides with school police

Clark County School District police won a legal victory when a judge upheld a ruling that they are entitled to be covered by collective bargaining rules that apply to other police officers and firefighters, who have “expedited” access to an arbitrator to resolve impasses in talks. School officials and school police haven’t been able to negotiate a contract that expired in 2007.

Students line up as CSN classes open up

Students stood in line for hours Tuesday, hoping to get into College of Southern Nevada classes that had been closed but opened up after last week’s purge of students who registered for classes but didn’t pay their tuition or fees.
