Graduation rates at Nevada’s colleges and universities are among the lowest in the nation. As a result, the state has joined a national effort to increase the number of college graduates.
CARSON CITY — More than $100,000 has been donated by 375 people to the state’s Millennium Scholarship program as a tribute to former Gov. Kenny Guinn, the treasurer’s office announced Wednesday.
Howard Moore’s family watches Bart Simpson and Snoopy float above the streets of New York City each year on Thanksgiving. This year, scores of families will watch Moore and members of his Green Valley High School band march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
President Bart Patterson, who has led the Henderson college since 2011, said he will leave his post after the 2020-21 school year.
