Las Vegas police seek vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run

Police are seeking a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run Monday in the south Las Vegas Valley.

The crash was reported just before 3:10 a.m. on South Valley View Boulevard south of West Arby Avenue, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

A southbound black 2012 Toyota Tundra struck a pedestrian. The driver of the Toyota failed to remain at the scene and fled south on Valley View.

The pedestrian, who was found on the roadway by passersby, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Medical Center by ambulance, where he later died.

It was the 140th traffic-related crash in Metro’s jurisdiction this year. The crash remains under investigation by Metro’s collision investigation section.
