Possible human bones found in desert

Detectives are investigating a possible human skull and bones found Friday in the desert southwest of Las Vegas.

Surveyors found the bones about 2½ miles northwest of Jean and roughly 500 yards off the road to Goodsprings.

A crime scene investigator and a detective will determine whether the bones might be human, Lt. Dan McGrath said.

The Clark County Coroner's office will identify the person, if possible, and determine how they died.
