Sewer bills will be lower this year

The good news about this year’s sewer bills hitting mailboxes next week is that they are 4 percent lower than in 2012.
Clark County officials said the 9,094 commercial customers and 231,758 residential customers of the Clark County Water Reclamation District will only have to pay $221.09 per house, down from last year’s $230.30 per house.
The County Commission, acting as the board of trustees for the district, approved the reduced rates in March after a review of the district’s financial plan and $700 million capital plan.
The bills are being printed and will be mailed out next week.
The Water Reclamation District serves the Las Vegas Valley, Blue Diamond, Indian Springs, Moapa Valley, Laughlin and Searchlight and collects and reclaims more than 100 million gallons of wastewater daily.
