Touch-A-Truck rolls into Orleans Arena lot

Youngsters fascinated by the power of trucks can get their fill of emergency vehicles and big rigs during Touch-A-Truck from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the northwest parking lot at the Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.

The family-oriented event enables children to get a close-up view of firetrucks, police cars, school buses, sanitation vehicles, big rigs and other trucks. They also can meet the people who operate the various vehicles.

Last year's Touch-A-Truck featured more than 90 trucks and vehicles and attracted more than 5,500 people.

Admission is $6, with children younger than 2 admitted free. All of the proceeds go to Family to Family Connection, Las Vegas West, a nonprofit group that offers parent education and networking programs designed to improve the lives of children. Further details are available by calling 870-9583.
