Wind leaves sign dangling at 215 Beltway and Far Hills

A street sign was hanging by a thread late Wednesday morning near the off ramp of the 215 Beltway and Far Hills Avenue.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Loy Hixson said the “Do Not Enter” sign is hanging to alternate traffic as the left-lane is closed. As of 11:45 a.m., the Nevada Public Works Board has been on scene and is fixing the sign.

Hixson said he’s seen situations like this before during windy weather. Signs that have fallen or blown down have not caused any serious injuries, but some vehicles have been damaged, he said.
