Bank of the West goes after Whittemores’ Lake Tahoe house

RENO — A Nevada lawyer and lobbyist and his wife are being sued by Bank of the West over the family’s Lake Tahoe house.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the lawsuit filed April 29 by Reno attorney Mark Gunderson says Harvey and Annette Whittemore created shell companies to hide assets, including their home in Glenbrook.

Calls to the Whittemore family were not returned.

Bank of the West is seeking payment on a $2.7 million judgment against the couple. The suit says the Whittemores haven’t made any payments and claim to have no assets.

According to the lawsuit, the Whittemores used two companies to transfer ownership of their multimillion-dollar beachfront home to their five children.

Gunderson said he could not comment on the case.
