Kingman mother, boyfriend arrested in death of toddler

The death of a toddler has resulted in the arrest of his mother and her boyfriend in northwest Arizona.

Kingman police said an investigation began after a 3-year-old boy was hospitalized in Kingman on Aug. 6 before being flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he died of his injuries.

"The investigation revealed that the 3-year-old boy received multiple skull fractures resulting from blunt force head trauma," Kingman police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said.

Police believe the boy was under the care of Cory Williams, 26, of Kingman, when the injuries were inflicted, she said.

Williams has been arrested and booked into the Mohave County Jail on manslaughter and child abuse charges. The victim's mother, Tiffany Stotser, 27, of Kingman, was arrested and jailed for child abuse.

Sochocki said the investigation revealed that the victim had suffered other injuries previously and the child did not receive medical attention because Stotser wanted to prevent the involvement of Department of Child Safety officials.
