Police: Ax-armed man arrested after barricading in apartment

A man who had been armed with an ax and barricaded himself in an apartment with children has been taken into custody in Laughlin, Las Vegas police said.

Officers and SWAT responded to a call about a domestic dispute at the unit in the 1700 block of Cal Edison Drive about 8:50 a.m. Friday, officer Larry Hadfield said.

He was taken into custody just after 11 a.m., Hadfield said. The children were unharmed, Hadfield said.
