Victim, driver ID’d in deadly Arizona Fourth of July collision

The names of the victim and the driver involved in a Fourth of July fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision have been released by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The driver, David Antista, 28, and victim, David McWilliam, 20, are both Golden Valley, Arizona, residents.

McWilliam was crossing from the median toward the shoulder of U.S. Highway 93 when he was struck and fatally injured about 8:24 p.m., the agency said. Antista was arrested after failing to stop at the accident scene, it said.

Antista was being held in the Mohave County jail on a manslaughter charge.
