Sandoval administration: Supreme Court decision means $657 million hit

CARSON CITY -- The Sandoval administration now is saying that the hit from Thursday's Supreme Court decision is $657 million, according to a statement from Dale Erquiaga, his senior policy adviser.

These are funds they no longer collect because of the constitutional provision against low and special tax laws. Because of the ruling, Gov. Brian Sandoval has decided to support the extension of $626 million in taxes that expire on June 30.

More development are expected today as Sandoval prepares a new state budget.
